EXTENSION ACTIVITY OF NCC UNITS ON ENVIRONMENTAL DAY 2022
National Cadet Corps trains the youth of India for Unity, Discipline & Leadership. Along with that it also inspires the youth for their duty towards society by social service. St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore participated in Tree Plantation Drive in Central Hospital, Udayagiri, Mysore. It was organized on 29th June 2022 at 10:30.a.m by 3 KAR NAVAL UNIT NCC & 1 KAR ARTY BTY NCC of the college with 27 cadets on the occasion of celebrating “World Environmental Day” which is observed on every 5th June 2022. The programme started with the welcome speech by CC Cdt. Raisa Batul Khanum, Leading Cdt Samyama Gowda introduced the chief guest Dr. Capt. A. L Janardhan. Addressing the Cadets he gave a speech regarding the importance of environment and also about need of Unity and Discipline. Afterwards chief guest was felicitated by Principal Dr. Ravi J D Saldanha, he also gave a speech on the need of extracurricular activities like NCC, which ensures the overall development of cadets. Finally the meeting came to an end with a vote of thanks given by Cdt. Cressida & finally with singing of National Anthem. The chief guest, principal and other doctors of the hospital initiated the main event by planting some saplings, later on cadets started planting saplings in the premises of Hospital. The event was accomplished under the guidance of NCC Officers of 3 KAR NAVAL UNIT and 1 KAR ARTY BTY Mr. Eliezer Vishwas and Mr. Francis Devasahaya respectively. As the motto of World Environmental Day: “Only One Earth” in this occasion is made us to think about how we are a part of nature and how intimately we depend on it for survival.
