St. Philomena’s celebrates Annual Athletic Meet 2021-22
The Annual Athlet Meet of St. Philomena’s college for the year 2021-22 was inaugurated on July 21, 2021 by International heptathlete Ms. Danusha M. R. by handing over the olymic torch to the college sports representatives. Addressing the students and the teaching community, Ms.Danusha stressed on physical fitness not just as a sports essential but to make it a part of everyday routine. She emphasized on being physically active stating a sound mind in a sound body. Physical/sports director, Ms. Periyanayagammal, presented the annual sports report for the year 2021-22. This was followed by the principal’s address.The event kicked off on a high note with march past by students from various departments where the teams were judged by chief guest along with college representatives for best performance. The college encouraging the outstanding performances, felicitated Mr. Kishore, National level shooter and distributed the certificates to the teams who secured the prizes in various competitions at intercollegiate, state and national levels thereby bringing galores of glory to the college. The events saw the presence of Dr.Fr. Bernard Praksh Barnis, Rector/Manager, Fr. Maria Xavior, Vice Rector, Fr. John Paul, Campus Administrator, Fr. Christopher S.J., Assistant Rector, Dr. Ravi J. D. Saldhana, Principal, Prof. Othbert Pinto, Director, PG Studies & Research Centre, Prof. Vidyadhar Sanjay Nair, Vice Principal, Dr. Britto Dominic Ryan, Controller Examination, Mr.Ronald Prakash Cutinha, IQAC Coordinator, various coordinators and other teaching and non teaching faculties. To keep the students’ sporting spirit high, the college will host a series of events and competitions.
