PG DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINOLOGY AND FORENSIC

The PG Department of Criminology & Forensic Science was established in 2022. The need to start a postgraduate course in Criminology and Forensic Science is driven by the growing complexities of crime and the advancements in forensic technology. Criminal activities are becoming increasingly sophisticated today, necessitating highly specialized knowledge and skills for effective investigation and prevention. A postgraduate course will equip students with advanced theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in crime analysis, forensic methods, and legal processes.

Moreover, integrating forensic science into the judicial system has underscored the importance of scientific evidence in solving crimes and ensuring justice. Advanced education in this field will foster a new generation of professionals who can leverage cutting-edge forensic techniques, contribute to academic research, and drive innovations in crime detection and prevention.

The course will also address the current gap in higher education for criminology and forensic science, providing a pathway for undergraduate students to further their studies and careers.
