FunFair- A Cause for Transgenders.
Philo Hindi Club,Department of Hindi St. Philomena’s college (Autonomous) organise fun fair – A cause for transgenders on 19th November 2022. The programme started by 11:30 a.m. at open air theatre, St.Philomena’s college.
The dignitaries Rev Fr. Maria Xavier, Vice reactor, Rev Fr Christopher, Assistant Rector, Rev Fr Praveen, campus adminstrator, Prof Sanjay Nair, Vice principal, Chief guest, Mrs Uma Anil president, innerwheel club Mysore gold, Special invitee, Dr Sunil Tarun,President, lions club Bangalore. Mrs. Pramati Prakash,a transgender were present for the programme. the inaugural of the programme started with tape cutting by the dignitaries, followed by the stage function. Dr Poornima Umesh HOD department of Hindi welcomed the gathering followed by chief guest and special invitees speech. Rev Fr Maria Xavier addressed the gathering that every human should be treated equally beyond the sex. Mrs Uma Anil appreciated the initiative taken by the department of Hindi for organising such a event for a Nobel cause.
A mime has been organised by the students to enlighten the discrimination of transgenders in the society. A declaration has been signed from the dignitaries that we wil treat everyone equally and help the transgenders whenever required.
Cultural programmes continued with Dr.Sunil Tarun Ji’s shayari and poems, followed by students dances and songs.
Numerous food stall like pulao, Dahi Vada, Pani puri, juices, samosas, momos, vegetable slices, salads, sweets, rotis,sweetcorns, popcorn and many eatables were arranged in the stalls.
Game stalls like coin bucket, number games, suicide ball, arranging glasses, pyramid glasses and many games were arranged.
Mehandi art, nail art, earrings, nail polishs, eyeliners, Scrunches and accessories where organised at Fancy store stall for sales
Many Students volunteerly worked for half a day for organizing the stalls.
Inner wheel club Mysore gold has taken the initiative to built a hotel at Mysore premises exclusively working by the transgenders, so Philo Hindi Club, Department of Hindi had organized the programme to raise the fund by the extension activity funfair.
By attending the funfair, students donated for a Nobel cause.
