International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day
Yoga transcends all religions into one, makes mind and body flexible and the internal vision of the body is called Yoga, said Dr.A.R.Seetharam, Expert in yoga and value education and Principal, Sri Sharada college, Tamil Naidu, on 4th International yoga day organized by St.Philomena’s college, Mysore on June 21, 2018 from 2 to 4:30 pm at the college indoor stadium.
Yoga also gives us the power of positive thinking, hope and courage to do the work which we thought we could never do it. While practicing yoga if you tell yourself ;I and body are different, I am not the thought, I am accepting anything that happens in my life and I never expect anything; you can see the changes in your behavior and also in your body, he said.
Yoga helps to manage stress which we cannot prevent and should also not do so; we should always take stress as our motivation to do any work given to us. Yoga also helps us to learn the art of living in present, active acceptance and not expecting anything ,he added.
Practically several asanas were demonstrated by Dr.Seethram and his team and they also taught a few easy asanas which can be practiced in our day to day life to the members of faculty and students of the college.
