 MATHEMATICS WORKSHOP

The Department of Mathematics of St. Philomena’s college and Mathematics Forum, University of Mysore jointly organized a one day workshop on MATHEMATICS PRACTICAL-1(CBCS) under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) on 06^th July 2018 (Friday). During the inaugural address, Dr.Ruth ShanthaKumari T, Principal of St. Philomena’s College highlighted the importance of practical applications of Mathematics in everyday life, The Rector of the college Dr. Fr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, in his presidential address spoke about importance of practical approach of the subject which helps the students to work in various fields. Prof. Mayigowda the Principal Bharathi college and the President of the Mathematics Forum, University of Mysore, said that the teachers should teach the subject from grass root level with practical approach to the subject. Dr. Guruprasad, Assistant Professor is the resource person for the workshop. The convener Mr. V.Sanjay Nair welcome the gathering and Ms Shruthi Menezes, Assistant Professor and the organizing secretary of the workshop proposed the vote of thanks.
