Certificate Distribution Ceremony

St. Philomena’s College organized a Certificate Distribution Ceremony in the Conference Hall of the College on March 4, 2022. The programme was held to honour and motivate the students for the successful completion of the workshops conducted by the University Career Hub. The University of Mysore initiated a programme titled ‘Mission Innovation Mysuru’ with an objective to empower the students with entrepreneurial skills.

Chief Guest Mrs. Rakshitha Gowda, Senior coordinator, University Career Hub in her address applauded the students for their sincerity and dedication. She motivated them to continue their progress and enlightened them about the enormous opportunities available at the University Career Hub.

About 25 students of St. Philomena’s College from various streams actively participated in the week long workshops on ‘Design Thinking’ and ‘Android Application Development’. During the workshop, students identified a few real world problems existing in the society and designed prototypes of the possible solutions in the form of Apps. Some of the Apps designed by them are Deep Learner (for focused Learning), Smart Home (to connect phone and home appliances from a distance of 100 Kilometres), United Growth (to connect farmer directly to the consumer) etc.

Dr. Alphonsus D’souza, the Principal congratulated the students for their accomplishments and advised them to hone their skills for the betterment of their future and the society.

Mr. Prakash Cutinha, the IQAC co-ordinator interacted with the students and guided them to utilize the opportunities available in the college to further innovate on their projects.

Students demonstrated the prototypes of their Apps and shared their experiences.

Certificates were distributed to the students by the Chief Guest Mrs. Rakshitha Gowda, the Rector, Rev. Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis and other dignitaries.

Ms. Jnana Sai welcomed and Ms. Sylvia proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mrs. Farha M., the P.R.O. of the college hosted the event.
