INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO GOLDEN LANDMARK HOTEL
An industrial visit to the hotel golden landmark was organised by the department of Tourism and Hospitality, St. Philomena’s college (autonomous) on 18th September 2024. The students were asked to assemble at 9.30 a.m in the college campus.
On reaching the resort, students were offered a welcome drink. The day kick started with a hotel tour of the resort. Where in information about facilities pertaining to various services, hotel rooms, tariff plans and other related services were informed to the students. Later an interactive session was held, in one of the conference halls. Here a brief overview of Club Mahindra group of resorts was given.
The club Mahindra resort chain offers family-friendly vacations through membership programs. The club Mahindra group was founded by Anand Mahindra in 20th September 1996. Club Mahindra has over 140 resorts around the globe, the club Mahindra offers vacation ownerships, memberships.
The students were taken to various departments such as Front office, Housekeeping, Food Production, Food and Beverage service outlets, Guest room cottages etc and was explained the operations and facilities of departments.
Further the cluster manager interacted with the students about the culture of club Mahindra which is customer satisfaction, reliability and trust. Thus, informed them that they would be trained in various areas of the resort. Students actively interacted with the manger and gained much insight of the resort in particular and industry in general. The cluster manager was felicitated by the department. Visit concluded with students gaining a good exposure to the industry. Prof. Paul Iruthayaraj and Prof.Rini Brown organised the event.
