Inauguration of MBA and MCA Batch 2024-2026
The academic year of MBA & MCA programs was formally inaugurated on 8th January2025 at 10.00 am in the college auditorium. The program was presided over by Rev. Dr. Lourdu Prasad Joseph, Rector, St. Philomena’s Educational Institutions and Dr. Ravi J D Saldanha, Principal, St. Philomena’s College. Dr Issac George, HOD, MBA welcomed the gatheringt, Mrs. Reena Mol V U, HOD, MCA, proposed the vote of thanks. All the academic and administrative heads of the institution were present. The MBA & MCA staff, students along with their parents witnessed the program.The inauguration was followed by a week of induction and orientation program in which academicians and industry experts were invited to deliver technical sessions on various areas related to management and information technology.
Induction Program

Department of MBA and MCA organized a week-long induction program for its students to orient and familiarize them with the course and the college. During which a platform was provided for the students through various technical sessions handled by eminent academicians, entrepreneurs, professional trainers and industry experts. The technical sessions helped the students to upscale their knowledge and skills.
Objectives:
- To familiarize the students with the course, curriculum, department, and other facilities
- To enhance the soft skills such as communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- To enlighten students about the employability and entrepreneurial opportunities
- To gain awareness about the technology and innovation in the present scenario

A session on “My Successful Business Model” was conducted by Mr. Jayateerth Kulkarniin which the resource person emphasizes innovation and customer-centric strategies, driving sustained growth and competitive advantagein the present business scenario. He also highlighted about how to achieve long-term profitability. The session helped the students to understand how to involve sustainable practices, strategic planning, and adaptability to market changes, ensuring the company remains financially stable and competitive in the future., followed by question-and-answer session.Dr.Issac George, HOD, MBA Departmentwelcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person,Dr. Sadia Tabassum, Associate Professor, MBA Department proposed the vote of thanks.

Topic: Importance of Team Work and Goal Setting

A technical session on “The Importance of Team Work and Goal Setting” was conducted by Mr. Zubair Ahmed. The session was meant to develop the culture of team work among the students with various activities on team building. He also focused about role and usage of social media for strengthening the team building. All the students very actively participated in all the management activities and were able to mark the spirit team work. The session also enlightened the students about goal setting which could be attainable as better intended goals leads to successful teamwork. Mrs. Reena Mol V U, HOD, MCA introduced the speaker and Dr. Divyashree N, Assistant Professor, MBA department proposed vote of thanks.

Topic: Leadership and Motivation

A session on “Leadership and motivation” was delivered by the resource person to drive the students from the motivational aspect.Thissession helps to empowers individuals to unlock their leadership abilities, focusing on communication, adaptability, and vision. Developing the mindset of never give-up, go-getter and how to create a pavement for success were also part of the discussion. The session ended up with lot of take away for the students. Ms. Amal Javeria of I semester MBA introduced the resource person and Miss. Maria Sahana of first semester MBA proposed vote of thanks.

Topic: Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship

A well-known industrialist Mr.Rakesh Babu highlighted the concepts of innovation, management and entrepreneurship. He engaged the students with activities related to real life situations. The session was very informative and interactive as the students were actively involved in various reward-based tasks. At the end, there was a question-and-answer session, in which students interacted with the resource person and more questions related to entrepreneurial activities and the challenges ahead of entrepreneurs in the global business space. Ms. Sarah Sabestine of first semester MBA introduced the guest and Ms. Sajini of first semester MBA proposed the vote of thanks.

A technical session on “Entrepreneurial Mindset for Youth” was held by Mr. Hemanth Kumar Mohan.The session was held to understand on how one should encourages innovation, proactive thinking, and a drive for continuous learning, preparing them to excel in a dynamic world. He enlightened the students with his knowledge and left a significant impact on them with his experience. The session was highly interactive and engaging. The session was activity oriented to enhance the participation and involvement of the students. Ms. Josna of first semester MBA introduced the guest and Mr. Bhaskar of first semester MBA proposed vote of thanks.

A session on “Industry Expectations from New Employees” was conducted by Mr. Praveen Barthur. It provided valuable insights into the key qualities and skills that organizations seek in fresh talent entering the workforce. He emphasized the importance of technical expertise and adaptability, highlighting how a strong foundation in core skills and the ability to learn quickly are critical in meeting industry demands. He stressed the significance of effective communication and teamwork, as collaboration plays a vital role in achieving organizational goals. The session covered the need for problem-solving abilities and critical thinking to tackle challenges innovatively. He also underscored the value of time management, professionalism, and a proactive mindsetin fostering career growth. Participants were encouraged to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to remain relevant in a dynamic work environment. Additionally, the session addressed the importance of ethical behaviour, resilience, and adaptability, qualities that ensure long-term success and alignment with organizational values. Real-world examples shared by Mr. Barthur made the session engaging and relatable for the audience. Overall, the session equipped participants with actionable insights to align their skills and attitudes with industry expectations, preparing them for successful careers. Mr. Joshua Daniel & Team (Magic Bus Foundation)
Managing Self & Work
This was a three-day training workshop. Joshua Daniel and his team introduced the Magic Bus Foundation. Discussing the history and purpose of the “Magic Bus.”The training covered communication skills, including basic rules and preparation strategies. Learning basic
Communication rules and pronunciation. There was a presentation of videos explaining the importance of effective communication and its timing. Interactive session involved the use of a PowerPoint presentation and engaging in interactive activities. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions.
He was always present and actively participated. The Magic Bus Foundation’s goals were discussed, including poverty eradication, stopping child marriages, and advocating for equal rights.Thetrainingemphasizedunderstandingthebodyandsoul’sconnection, and its lasting impact beyond death that increased confidence and learned basic communication rules. Students participated in a fun and interactive session and also learned the importance of active listening. The session was about soft skills and communication, using activities and a presentation. It motivated students to improve communication skills.
DAY–07 [16/01/2025]
Mr. Joshua Daniel & Team (Magic Bus)
Soft Skills and Emotional Social Skills
The session was handled by the same team and focused on making sure each student had a chance to participate. The training workshop focused on soft skills, defining them and how to improve them and also focused on resilience and communication through storytelling.
The trainer explained goal setting and how to plan for achieving them. An activity was conducted to imagine being in a successful position and how to get there. Students were encouraged to practice active listening and observe how communication is projected and the importance of grammar and using proper language was also covered. Soft Skills Impact Daily Life Understanding the importance of soft skills in everyday life and also setting perfect goals leads to success. The trainer interacted with students, making learning enjoyable.

Workplace Ethics & Behaviour
The third day of the training workshop focused on workplace ethics and behavior. The session covered topics like How to behave professionally. What skills and knowledge to learn.Howtomaintainappropriatebodyposture.Therewasalsoadiscussiononresume building, including what elements to include, how to present the resume effectively.
The session addressed time management and mind set, emphasizing the importance of hobbies and adapting to life’s challenges. Learnt about body language and how to maintain it. Activities were beneficial and provided valuable learning experience.
Valedictory Segment
Students feedback was engaging and insightful the training concluded with a photograph and filling activity. The efforts of the Magic Bus foundation were appreciated the session provided valuable knowledge about resume writing and its impact on career growth. The overall training program covered a comprehensive range of topics over three days. The day was filled with positive moments, including the induction’s closing, a vote of thanks, photo session, and Thanks giving for Joshua Daniel and his team.
