Tree Plantation Drive Organized by 1 KAR ARTY BTY, NCC at St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore

Mysuru, January 26, 2025: In a commendable effort to promote environmental sustainability, the 1 Karnataka Artillery Battery NCC, Mysore organized a tree plantation drive at St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore on the occasion of Republic Day with a theme “EK PED MAA KE NAAM”. The event saw enthusiastic participation from cadets, faculty members, and students, who collectively contributed to making the campus greener.

This event emphasized the importance of trees in combating climate change and creating a healthier environment for future generations. This event was carried out in the presence of Col. Vivek Savangouder Officer Commanding 1 KAR ARTY BTY, NCC Mysore, Sub. Maj. K. Chinna Rao, Rev. Fr. Dr.Lourdu Prasad, Rector St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore, Dr. Ravi J D Saldanha, PrincipalSt. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore, PI Staffs, B Francis Devasahayam, Caretaking Officer and Cadets of 1 KAR ARTY BTY NCC, Mysore.

A total of 30 saplings, including fruit-bearing, medicinal, and native species, were planted across the campus. Cadets pledged to nurture and care for the saplings, ensuring their growth and long-term survival. Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to environmental conservation.

The plantation drive concluded with the singing of the national anthem, symbolizing unity and a shared vision for a greener India.
