Topic: Decision Making, Goal Setting & Problem Solving FN
Morning Session: Introduction to Magic Bus Foundation
Magic Bus Foundation conducted an engaging session at our college, led by their esteemed Senior Trainer, Mr Joshua Daniel. The morning began with an informative introduction to the Magic Bus Foundation, outlining its mission to empower young people through skill development and employability training. Mr Joshua Daniel provided insights into the foundation’s various programs and initiatives, emphasizing the importance of equipping young people with the necessary skills to succeed in today’s competitive job market.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to a self-awareness workshop. Mr Joshua Daniel guided us through exercises designed to help us understand our strengths, weaknesses, abilities, opportunities, and characteristics, areas of improvement, and our personal goals or aims. We were encouraged to write and share our self-assessments, fostering a deeper understanding of ourselves and our potential.
Overall, the first day of the session provided valuable insights into the Magic Bus Foundation’s impactful work and helped us gain greater self-awareness, setting the stage for personal and professional growth.

Topic: Resilience, and Self-Confidence, Body language

Magic Bus Foundation continued their series of sessions with a focus on goal setting, resilience, and self-confidence, led by Senior Trainer Mr Joshua Daniel. The morning session began with an in-depth discussion on goal setting, where Mr Joshua explained the distinction between goals and aims. He emphasized that goals are specific, measurable, and time-bound objectives, whereas aims are broader, long-term aspirations.
In the afternoon, the session started with a fun and interactive activity where participants sang songs by reading the lyrics projected on a screen. Mr Joshua mentioned that this method could make learning English easier and more enjoyable.
Following the musical interlude, Mr Joshua introduced the concepts of resilience and self-confidence. He explained that resilience involves the ability to recover quickly from setbacks and adapt to challenging situations, highlighting various resilience assets such as positive relationships, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset. Additionally, Mr Joshua emphasized the importance of self-confidence in achieving our goals and provided practical tips for building it, including setting realistic goals, recognizing our achievements, and maintaining a positive attitude.

Magic Bus Foundation continued their series of sessions with a focus on resume building, led by Senior Trainer Mr Joshua Daniel. The session provided invaluable insights into how to create an effective resume, emphasizing the importance of correct sentence structure, clarity, and relevance.
Joshua guided us through the essentials of resume writing, including what to include and how to present our experiences and skills in a compelling manner. He stressed the importance of tailoring the resume to the job description, using action verbs, and quantifying achievements to make a strong impression on potential employers. Additionally, he introduced the concept of self-appraisal, encouraging us to regularly evaluate our own performance and achievements. This practice helps in identifying areas of improvement and setting goals for personal and professional growth.

Day 4: 30/01/2025
Topic: Resume Building
Trainer: Joshua Daniel
Magic Bus Foundation continued their series of sessions with a focus on interview preparation, led by Senior Trainer Mr. Joshua Daniel. The session provided comprehensive guidance on how to approach interviews effectively, including what to do and what to avoid.
Throughout the day, Mr. Joshua and his team shared valuable tips on presenting oneself confidently, answering common interview questions, and highlighting strengths. Participants engaged in mock interviews, received constructive feedback to improve their performance, and enacted roles as both interviewees and interviewers to gain a well-rounded perspective on the interview process.
The session concluded with a closing ceremony attended by the Rector, Rev. Dr. Lourdu Prasad Joseph, the Department Head, and the staff. Certificates of participation were distributed to all attendees, marking the successful completion of the training program. The event emphasized the importance of the skills learned and the dedication of both the trainers and participants.
