The Department of Economics at St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysuru, hosted a thought-provoking session titled “State Budget 2025 – Review” on 12th March 2025 at the MBA Conference Hall. The session ran from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, attracting students, faculty members, and eminent speakers from the field of economics.

The event commenced with a heartfelt invocation song by Augustine, a final-year B.A. student, creating a positive ambiance. Following this, Dr. Praveen Saldanha, Dean of Arts and Head of the Department of Economics, delivered the welcome address. He emphasized the importance of understanding budgetary frameworks and their impact on the socio-economic fabric of society.
