
Industrial Visit to Puducherry
Introduction:
On 11th August 2022, a group of 39 students from St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore embarked on a two-day industrial visit to Puducherry. The objective of the visit was to provide the students with practical exposure to industries and cultural sites in Puducherry. This report aims to outline the activities conducted during the visit and highlight the key takeaways.
Preparatory Arrangements:
The Department of Commerce, in coordination with Dr. Reena Francis,HoD and Dr. Sunil D’Souza. Faculty of Commerce made all the necessary arrangements for the industrial visit. The trip was organized for two days and included visits to Nikitha Containers, Aurobindo Handmade Papers, as well as popular tourist spots like the beach and gardens in Puducherry. Accommodation and transportation were efficiently arranged to ensure a comfortable and smooth experience for the students.
Industrial Visits:
The first industrial visit was to Nikitha Containers, a leading manufacturer of packaging solutions. The students were given a comprehensive tour of the manufacturing process, starting from the raw material procurement to the final packaging of products. They observed the advanced machinery and automation systems used in the production line. The company representatives provided valuable insights into the challenges and innovations in the packaging industry. The students also had the opportunity to interact with the employees, gaining practical knowledge related to their respective fields of study.
Aurobindo Handmade Papers:
The second industrial visit was to Aurobindo Handmade Papers, a renowned producer of eco-friendly handmade paper products. The students had the opportunity to witness the intricate process of handmade papermaking, starting from pulping to the final product.
