Suraksha Kit distribution from the Department of Sociology in St Philomena’s College

The Sociology Department of St. Philomena’s College in collaboration with Karnataka State Building Construction and Other Labourer’s Union(R) organized the distribution of Suraksha Kit to the registered labour card beneficiaries on October 8, 2021 at 11.am am in the Indoor stadium of the college. Dr Prashant Assistant professor, Department of History welcomed the gathering after which the programme was formally inaugurated by the dignitaries by lighting the lamp.

 Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Shri C Ravi President, Karnataka State Building Construction and other Labourer’s Union addressed the beneficiaries and briefed them about the union and its activities and advised them to make the best use of the available benefits. Dr Prashant professor, Department of History throwed light on the various schemes and programmes being given by the government to the laborers.

For about 80 beneficiaries received the Suraksha Kit which was distributed by the dignitaries. The presidential remarks was given by Dr Aphonsus Dsouza, Principal St Philomena’s College, Mysuru and the vote of Thanks was Proposed by Ms Mary Niveditha, Assistant professor, Department of Kannada.

Rev. Fr. Julian, Br. Dolphy, Labor Union’s office bearers Mr. Manjunath, Mr. Yuvaraj, Mr. Mahadevu, Mr. Nagesh and other teaching and Non Teaching staff members of the college were present on the occasion.  Dr Sowmya P, HOD of Sociology Moderated the programme.
