Report on e-shram Card Distribution Programme

The department of Sociology in collaboration with Ananad Jyothi Network organizede-shram card distribution to the members of the network who are working in unorganized sectors on 25th August 2022 at 11.00 AM in Asha Kirana Hospital, Hebbal, Mysuru.e- shram card will help to implement the social security services and various stakeholders for delivering the welfare schemes to the unorganized workers.

The card holders can avail benefits from Pradhan Mantri ShramyogiMaandhan Yojana. Looking towards the advantages of e-shram card, the department initiated to collect the data of the beneficiary in collaboration with Anand Jyothi Network. Nearly 200 member beneficiaries’details were collected after the complete process and we were able to mobilize 43 e-shram cards.The programme began sharply at 11.00am. Dr Prashant D, assistant professor, department of History, Ms. Savitha, supervisor, DAPCOU (District Aids Prevention and Control Unit), Mysuru, Jagadamba, supervisor, Women and Child Welfare Department andMr. Mahadev, president, Anand Jyothi Network, Mysuru were the special invitees of the programme.

MsMahadevammapeer counsellor of Anand Jyothi Network heartily welcomed the gathering later the programme was formally inaugurated by the dignitaries by lighting the lamp. Firstly,Ms Savitha addressed the gathering about the facilities available from the government, explained the reasons for the shortage of ART medicines and also ensured that this problem will be solved at the earliest. Sheaddressed regarding the demand for allotting houses and expressed that the network has to build a team stronger to address this issue.

Later she appreciated the effort of the department in mobilizing the cards to the beneficiaries and told to share this information in their circles and encourage them to avail the card. Later Ms. Jagadambaexplained different programmes offered to the beneficiaries especially training programmes for women and the loan facilities available to them. She also said the network to send the details of the beneficiaries for the needful action.

Dr Prashant briefed on the uses of the e- shram card and the process to avail the benefits. He also explained about the different health insurance schemes launched from the government and he advised them to make the best use of the available benefits.

Dr Sowmya P expressed her gratitude to the network members who initiated in collecting the data of the beneficiaries. 44 e-sharama cards were distributed for the beneficiaries by the dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion Mr Mahadev expressed the gratitude on behalf of the network for taking up this task and doing the needful. He also expressed his desire that they would like to do more meaningful activities in collaborating with the department in future endeavors also. He thanked to all who were directly or indirectly responsible for the success of the programme.

The students of sociology, staff members of Asha Kirana hospital and the members of AnandJyothiNetwork graced the occasion. Vinod C, counsellor, Anand Jyothi Network moderated the programme. Lunch was served to all the participants which was hosted from the college. Over all the programme fetched fruitful result and in the feedback many members expressed their desire to assist them in their future endeavors also.
