A visit to “Lunar Factory”, a foot wear manufacturing unit in Mysore.

An Industrial visit was organized for the students of 2^nd, 4^th and 6^th semester B. Com on the 8^th of August 2022 at Lunar Factory Hebbal Industrial Area, Hebbal, Mysore by the faculty of Commerce. Thirty-eight students and four faculties were part of the contingent. The company manufactures foot wears and other accessories. The factory located at the said location manufactures only footwear. Students were educated regarding the semi automatic and manual technology used to produce these foot wears. The pupils also learnt the process involved in manufacturing foot wears from cutting, latest technology in producing the soles, sewing and quality check of these products. They were also educated about the packing and labeling of foot wears. Students also visited the factory out let where the rejected foot wears by the quality control is sold at half the price. Pupils were educated about the wasted generated by the industry and how the scraps were disposed off to other industries to be used as raw materials.
