
ACADEMIC INDUSTRIAL VISIT REPORT TO KODAGU DISTRICT 2025 – 26

On 9th September 2025,44 students & 03 faculties of BBA Tourism & Hospitalityof St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore undertook an industrial visit to Coorg to gain practical exposure to luxury resort operations. The team left Mysore at 8:30 am and reached Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa at 1:00 pm, a premium international brand resort located amidst coffee plantations. Students were welcomed by the management team and taken on a guided tour of the property covering the front office, guest rooms, banqueting facilities, restaurants, spa, and poolside. They also attended an interaction session on guest handling techniques, digital check-in systems, international service standards, and Marriott’s global loyalty programs, which offered valuable insights into global hospitality practices.
Later, at 4:00 PM, the students visited Coorg Wilderness Resort & Spa, an eco-luxury property known for its European-style architecture, spacious cottages, infinity pools, banqueting venues, and strong focus on sustainable tourism. The resort team-oriented students on eco-friendly practices, spa and wellness tourism, MICE operations, and destination-based experiences, while also showcasing how the resort integrates nature with luxury hospitality. After a day filled with learning and industry exposure, the students returned to Mysore in the evening, enriched with first-hand knowledge of both international luxury hospitality standards and sustainable eco-luxury resort management.
