
WOMEN’S CELL
The women cell of St. Philomena’s College, Mysore celebrated the International Women’s day on the 8th March 2025 at the college auditorium.
Dr Reena Francis HOD and Dean of faculty of commerce, Controller of examination and coordinator of Attrocities against women welcomed the gathering. Assistant Professor and Women Cell co ordinator Ms Juhie Singh in her speech emphasized the role of women as achievers who were setting new goals in their responsibilities with focus on accelerating action. The chief guest Rev Dr Lourdu Prasad (Rector) addressed the gathering and in his speech emphasized the role of women as a healthy mother’s and stressed on the importance of women asking for their rights.
The Rector Rev Dr Lourdu Prasad and Principal Dr Ravi JD Saldhana gave away certificates to students who participated in the a series of competition organized by the women cell . Collage making competition the theme was “Accelerte action”, Photography competition “ Celebrating the freedom to be ourselves in a gender equal world “and topic for Debate was “ Is gender based reservation in education and jobs necessary to accelerate womens’s progress.”
The program continued with a beautiful skit by the students who drove in a message that women should learn to say no to controlling behavior. It was followed by string of activities for the teaching and non teaching staff.
