With reference to the letter dated 17.11.2020 from the department of Collegiate Education, Bangalore, regarding observance of National Constitution Day on 26th November 2020, the Department of Political Science observed Constitution Day on 26th November 2020 in St. Philomena’s College, Autonomous, Mysore. A Guest Lecture was organized at 10.30am in the College Conference Hall. Dr. Prashanth D A , Assistant Prof., Department of History, St. Philomena’s College, Mysore was the guest of the day. Dr. Prashanth DA delivered a speech on the importance and relevance of Indian Constitution. He spoke about the historical perspective of freedom movement and the build-up leading to the process of evolution and making of the Constitution of India. His speech highlighted the sacrifice and commitment of the freedom fighters of India. Dr. Prashanth brought to the general notice about the significance of Statue of Equality, the memorial dedicated to Dr. B R Ambedkar by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi on 11 October 2015.He gave a call to the citizens of India to look at our Constitution as a national pride. He threw light on all the ideals engraved in the Preamble of our Constitution. The programme was compered by Mr.Anand C, Department of Political Science, St. Philomena’s College, Mysore.
