
Exciting Cricket Match 2025

A friendly cricket match was organized on 22nd November 2025, jointly by the Women’s Cell and the Redressal of Atrocities against Women on the occasion of International Men’s Day. The event witnessed active participation from all staff members, both teaching and non-teaching staff of UG and PG Departments.

Three teams took part in the match:
- Philo’s Stars – UG Teaching Staff
- Royal Challengers Philo’s – UG Non-Teaching Staff
- UG Men Teaching Staff – representing UG Men Teaching Faculty
The match commenced at 8:45 AM. The formal inauguration was done by Rev. Fr. Lourdu Prasad Joseph, Rector of the College, who greeted all the players. Dr. Reena Francis, Coordinator of the Redressal of Atrocities against Women, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the relevance of the event. The Rector addressed the participants, encouraging them to play in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The following dignitaries and sports lovers were present during the event:

- Assistant to Rector, Fr. David Sagayaraj S
- Vice Principal, Mr. Ronald Prakash Cutinha
- Coordinator of RAAW Dr. Reena Francis
- Physical Education Director, Mrs. Paryanagammal
- IQAC Coordinator, Mr. Thomas Gunaseelan A
- PG Coordinator Dr. Noor Mubasheer
- Dean of Academics Mr. Anand
- Three umpires, PG students, and UG & PG faculty members

The matches were conducted as 5-over games, with the following outcomes:
- The first match was played between the PG team and the UG Non-Teaching team, with the UG Non-Teaching team winning by scoring more runs.
- The second match featured the UG Non-Teaching staff against the UG Teaching staff, where the UG Non-Teaching team secured another victory.
- The third match was contested between the PG team and the UG Teaching staff, in which the PG team emerged victorious and was declared the first runner-up.
- The UG Teaching staff team was awarded the second runner-up position.
- The UG Non-Teaching team was crowned the overall winners of the tournament.
The valedictory function commenced at 12:10PM, with Rev. Fr. Rector, Rev. Fr. Jnana Pragasam, and other academic deans in attendance. Trophies were awarded to the first runner-up and the winners, and all three teams received cash prizes in recognition of their participation and efforts.

The College Management graciously provided lunch for all attendees, including players, faculty, and students.
