FELLOWSHIP MEAL THROUGH SANTVANA SWADA WITH SICK PEOPLE
Life is a gift from God, and what we become is our gift to God.
With this thought, We the students and faculty of the Department of Christianity had an extension activity “FELLOWSHIP MEAL THROUGH SANTVANA SWADA WITH SICK PEOPLE” on July 6, 2022.
We reached the Santvana Community at 10 am where we were welcomed with lots of smile and greeting by the children who do home schooling.
The very word ‘Santvana’ stands for consoling, comfort, solace. We were really happy to join with them to render our service. Santvana community distribute free home cooked food packets to 300 people everyday from the time Corona began.
“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and beheld service was joy.” – Rabindranath Tagore. So, what we realised and understood when we render our service to the needy our small help of cutting vegetable packing of food made us feel very happy and helped us seed the helping nature.
Contributing beyond yourself creates the positive in you. This is What came to our mind when we joined with Santvana community. ‘Only a life lived in the service of others is worth living’ – Albert Einstein.
We were really shocked to see many people were waiting to
receive food. Unable to express the joy when we heard them saying Thank you. Helping someone makes us feel that we are created for some unique and service. We need to understand that we are called for mission.
When we heard from Santvana community that what made them to take up this service. It was
inspiring to us, their service started in the month of December during corona, they never thought of doing it every day but the work of God was different in them, so they started to do it every day. God will never leave us abandoned when we work for his glory this what happened to them that the hand of God
was upon them leading them with sufficient things that they were in need. Which made us also feel work for God’s people without seeing whether the person is black, white, good, bad but only to see the presence of God in each person that we meet and share God’s love in the symbol of food kit.
Loving God is not only praying always but serving him by serving his people and take care of them.God as created us to take care of people so it is our duty to take care of them, at the end of the day made usfeel that we are instruments of God to share music of His love to all.
In similar way He calls each one of us to work in his vineyard. our life is made perfect when we make someone smile this what we experienced when we distributed food kits to the people on the road and KRS hospital. We loved this day enjoyed, the day with Santvana community. We are great full to God for this day. I conclude with small saying of Jim Rohn – service to others leads to greatness.
Santvana Community appreciated the College management and the department of Christianity for joining them in the service by giving the certificates to the students and management.
