The Department of Computer Science, St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru organized Guest lecture on “Block chain Demystified-From concepts to application”
on 7th September 2023 . The Program started at 2:30 P.M in the College Auditorium with a welcome speech by Shreya Nayak of 4th semester B.C.A Followed by a prayer song by Starwin and group in the gracious presence of Dr.Ravi J.D Saldanha Principal St.Philomena’s College , Prof .Nagaraj Urs vice principal academic, IQAC Coordinator Thomas Gunasheelan sir and E. Gloriya priyadarshini, H.O.D Dept of Computer Science.
The chief guest of the day was introduced by Ms Harinakshi Asst Professor Dept of Computer Science..
The stage was taken over by the speaker of the day Dr.NEETU GANAPATHY. She gave insights about Block Chain.
The outline of this session was
- What is Block chain?
- Who started Block chain?
- Why to use Block chain Technology?
- Where Block chain is used?
- How a Block chain is created?
The Resource Person started the session with Block chain revenue by region world markets 2016-2025 by pictorially displaying the statistics.
Resource person emphasised that block chain is based on DLT,madam also described the various fail points in a database .Every session had a Quiz session. Types of Block chain and consensus mechanism was discussed followed by the applications of Block chain.

The session had total number of around 255 participants including both faculties and students of St. Philomena‘s College(B.Sc and B.C.A)
Finally the program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohammed yasir hassan 4th semester B.C.A.
