HINDI DIWAS 2017-18

REPORT

Department of Hindi celebrated this significant day Hindi diwas on 14th September in our college Auditorium premises. Dr. Basavaraj K Baraker, Assistant Professor, Maharaja’s Degree College, Mysore,  chaired the function . The stage was staurated by dignitaries the Chief Guest Dr.Basavaraj K Baraker, Dr Ruth Shantha Kumari , Principal, St. Philomena’s College, Mysore and  Rev. Fr. Sanjay Kumar F, St.Philomena’s College, Mysore.

The programme started with Invocation and  Lighting the lamp.  Students of Hindi offered a warm welcome to all dignitaries , Introduced  the Guest and delivered a speech about importance of Hindi diwas.  Chief guest  addressed the gathering  with The History and importance of Hindi Diwas as it is celebrated to pay tribute the official language of India. The Constitution of India adopted Hindi in Devanagari script as the official language of the Union, under Article 343 in 1950.   Presidential address  was followed by Dr. Ruth Shantha kumari   gave a message about the importance of Rajbhasha in the official level and spoke a few words about Importance of Hindi in our day to day life and also the contributions of our forefathers for development of Hindi.

            A number of events like “Hindi Bhasha avur Bharathiya cinema” presentation, Skit and shayari took the main attention of the gathering. At the  end, various cultural progammes  group song  and Dance were arranged to create an environment and awareness of our national language Hindi.

            Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Poornima Umesh , HOD, Department of Hindi.
