Inauguration of Cultural Events 2022-2023
Inauguration of cultural events of St. Philomena’s college was held on 21st October at 1.30 p.m. in indoor stadium. The dignitaries of the event are namely Ms. Sinchan Dixit, the chief guest of the event and playback singer, Rev. Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, the Rector of the college, Rev. Fr. Maria Xavier, Vice Rector, Rev. Fr. Praveen K Gregory, Campus Administrator, Rev. Fr. Christopher S J, Assistant Rector, Dr. Ravi J D Saldanha, Principal, Mr. Vidhyadhar Sanjay Nair, Vice Principal and Dr. Deepa V, Coordinator of Cultural Committee and many others were present in the event.
The cultural event started with the college anthem. Mr. Joel and team began the prayer service, along with that the dignitaries and student representatives lighted the lamp and inaugurated the program. The event was declared open by the guest Ms.Sinchan Dixit and Rector, Rev Dr Bernard Prakash Barnis which was immediately followed by Dollu Kunitha Team.
Afnan Pasha, student of BA, welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering and also one of the student named Rida introduce the chief guest Ms.Sinchan Dixit. The program was then headed by the chief guest by giving an emotional performance, remembering Dr. Late. Puneeth Rajkumar. Later, she dedicated few songs to the gathering and gave an energetic performance. While singing the song she also conveyed few messages to students about their rights and said not to racism, body shaming, and so on.
Along with the chief guest there were two great musicians namely, Mr. Guru Dutt from Mysore and Mr. Melwin from Bangalore, who played an enthusiastic and energetic music. They too were also the stars of the event.
The dignitaries felicitated the chief guest Ms. Sinchan Dixit with great honor and also Mr. Guru Dutt and Mr. Melwin were given the memento as token of appreciation. Lastly B Pranav, student of the college proposed the vote of thanks and thanked each and everyone who were present at the event. The inaugural program was hosted Ms. Aishwarya, who was also the student of St. Philomena’s College.
A high tea was arranged for all the staff members and for all the students ladoo and mixture was given.
