International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The Women’s Cell in collaboration with Life Lens, of St. Philomena’s College marked the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by creating an awareness campaign on “Focus Life” World Drug Awareness Day Celebration and Photo Contest on Monday 26th June 2023 in front of the college auditorium at 11.00 am.
The campaign took off with a street play on the theme of drug abuse among students followed by a formal function with the participation of the management, staff and the students of St. Philomena’s college. Dr Elizabeth Frank Director of Learning 2 Lead Consultants was the Chief guest and her credentials include Entrepreneur, Medical Bio Chemist and Researcher. In her address she spoke about the importance of peer influence and many other reasons for taking drug. She also stressed how usage of drugs lowers human faculty, destroys health and life.
350 students participated and took an oath to stay away from Drugs.
After the formal inauguration an awareness rally was organized with students displaying different slogans on placards. The rally took off from the Chapel hall and went up to the LIC building and ended at the degree college back gate.
Students from across various streams took part in the event.
