
La Francophonie en Fete- 2026











On the occasion of the International Day of La Francophonie, we celebrate the importance of the French language and the rich cultural diversity it fosters within communities around the world. On March 20ththecreation of the Organisation internationalede la Francophonie in 1970, of which Canada is a founding member.
The Francophonie Day was celebrated on April 2, 2026, in the college auditorium with great enthusiasm and active participation from students. The event aimed to promote knowledge of the French language, Francophone culture, and global diversity.
The chief guests, Salva Nishath Ghori and Lorina D’Souza, inaugurated the program by watering young saplings, symbolizing growth and sustainability. They also encouraged students to actively participate in such cultural events.
The celebration included a series of engaging and educational competitions designed to encourage student participation and creativity.
A Spell Bee competition was organized to enhance student’s French vocabulary and pronunciation skills. The participants performed confidently and demonstrated their linguistic abilities.
A drawing and poster competition was also held, providing students with an opportunity to express their understanding of Francophonie through art. The participants presented creative and meaningful artworks reflecting themes of French culture, unity, and diversity.
In addition, a fashion show was organized, where students showcased costumes inspired by French fashion and Francophone countries. The event highlighted creativity, confidence, and cultural appreciation, making it one of the major attractions of the program.
It is noteworthy that students actively participated in preparatory activities for two days prior to the event, contributing significantly to its smooth and successful execution.
