VEGETABLE CARVING

The cultural committee had organized a vegetable carving competition.

Timing:  3.30 pm- 4.30pm

Venue: Room no 81

Highlights of the events

  • Detailed notice for the student community was sent previous day prior to the competition to register their names with teacher in charge with a set of rules and regulations (enclosed in Table 1) adhering to the events.
  • Three Judges were opted based on their knowledge towards the competition and was conveyed the same and was requested to be present at the venue at specified time and the details as so,

  • The numbers of participants were 5, Prior to the event only one student had registered and remaining 4 were spot registration.
  • The time limit of 1 Hour was allotted and flat surface tables were provided to the participants for their use.
  • Judgment on the sculpted models was decided on matrix enclosed in the table 2.
  • Report sheet, final result sheet and geo-tag photos enclosed below.

Table 1

THE RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1. This event is open to all  contestants. No professional experience is required.
2. All contestants are required to produce one sculpture that are made entirely of fruits
And/or vegetables. No flowers other than those sculpted of fruits/vegetables.
3. The contestant will have one hour to complete the piece for judging.
4. All pieces are to be made of entirely edible food. No plastic supports in frames.
5. Added colors are acceptable.
6. Extra emphasis will be placed on the use of the natural shapes and colours of the
Fruit/vegetables and how they are used to support and enhance each other.
7. All tools including hand tools like chisels, knives, saws, drills, angle cutters, shaped
Cutters, power drimmels, other power tools like squares, levels are acceptable.

 

8. Participants should not take the help of others to complete the task.
9. Participants should report 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.
10. No pre preparation of vegetables or fruits before competition is allowed
