
Visit Report on – Yuvavani Programme at Akashavani 100.6 FM (All India Radio)
Introduction
On 17th February 2026, 14 talented students from St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru, had the golden opportunity to participate in the Yuvavani programme organized by All India Radio (AIR), Mysuru. This event served as an exceptional platform for the students to showcase their diverse talents and creativity to a wider audience. The programme was made possible through the initiative of Mr. Digvijaya, Director of the Yuvavani programme at Akashavani, Mysuru. It was organized under the guidance of event in-charges Dr. Yamuna from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Ms. Hemashree from the Criminology Department. Their meticulous planning and mentorship played a vital role in the success of this event.

Preparation and journey
Students handling musical performances rehearsed with instruments to maintain rhythm and harmony. Speakers discussing issues such as mental health, unemployment, artificial intelligence, and overpopulation collected accurate information and organized their content systematically. The students were also briefed about studio rules and regulations of the Akashvani institution.

The selected students underwent training and rehearsals under the guidance of the faculty. From coordinating with AIR to organizing transportation, all arrangements were handled efficiently by the event in-charges. On the day of the event, the team departed from the college premises at 01:45 PM and reached the All-India Radio recording studio by 2:00 PM.
The programme was successfully conducted with the support and guidance of the Akashvani team. Mr. Digvijaya, Programme Director, played a key role in organizing and supervising the smooth execution of the programme. Ms. Tejaswini guided the students with clear instructions regarding studio rules and boosted their confidence before the recording began. Ms. Keerthanaalso supported the team throughout the session and ensured proper coordination.
Programme Highlights
The programme began with an Anchor MC by Divya, setting a confident tone for the session. This was followed by a melodious folk song presented by Namratha. Inchara delivered an emotional and impactful speech highlighting a mother’s sacrifice for her children’s future, with a special focus on mental and physical health issues faced by today’s generation, along with their causes and possible solutions.
A panel discussion on unemployment was held, involving two faculty members and two students. The discussion covered the causes and effects of unemployment on the present generation and also highlighted contemporary issues such as artificial intelligence and overpopulation.The fourth presentation was a devotional song, accompanied by musical instruments such as bass guitar by Daniel and piano by Joel, BBA, which added depth and harmony to the performance.


The second half of the programme began with a group song by the students. This was followed by an inspiring success story of Anand Kumar, which motivated everyone present. The programme also included the presentation of vachanas by great poets Sarvajna and Allama Prabhu, emphasizing their timeless values and teachings, also devotional song, accompanied by musical instruments such as bass guitar by Daniel and piano by Joel, BBA, which added depth and harmony to the performance.
The participating students were Ananya, Cleta, Joshua, Jhoel, Namratha, Divya Salomi, Inchara, and Nishat Daniel.
After the recording, students took photographs in front of the Akashvani logo and at the entrance gate, marking the memorable experience.

Conclusion– The Yuvavani programme was an excellent opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and creativity in a professional setting. The recording experience will undoubtedly remain a cherished memory and a proud moment for St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru. The college community now eagerly awaits the broadcast of the programme.

At the end of the session, heartfelt gratitude was expressed to the Akashvani institution for providing this valuable opportunity, which helped students enhance their confidence, communication skills, and practical knowledge of radio broadcasting. Refreshments including jalebi, aloo samosa, and apple juice were served. Ms. Tejaswini Ma’am shared her experiences, motivated the students with her inspiring words, and appreciated their efforts and active participation.

The team returned safely to the college at 6:25 PM, carrying valuable learning experiences, teamwork spirit, and pleasant memories of the educational visit.
