
Women’s Day Celebrations







The institution celebrated International Women’s Day on 16th March 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation. The program began with an invocation song, creating a peaceful and positive ambiance, followed by the ceremonial watering of a sapling, symbolizing growth, strength, and the nurturing spirit of women.
The event commenced formally with a warm welcome address, highlighting the importance of celebrating women’s achievements and their vital role in society.
The program was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including:
- Ms. Juhie Singh, Assistant Professor, Dept of Commerce, Women’s Cell Coordinator
- Dr. Reena Francis, Dean of Commerce RAAW Coordinator
- Ms. Radha M., Police Sub Inspector, Mysore
- Dr. Rachana Mahesh, Founder and Managing Director of Edukare ITES, Rachana Industries, and WomenCan Charitable Trust
- Dr. Bhavana, Ayurvedic Doctor and owner of a clinic and dispensary
- Dr. Seetha R., Retired Professor of Tamil
- Dr. Shwetha Nayak, MBBS, DNB (OBG), MNAMS, specialist in reproductive medicine
Ms. Radha M., Police Sub Inspector, Mysore, addressed an audience of over 200 girl students from undergraduates and post graduates. She emphasized the importance of maintaining privacy and exercising caution while using social media. She also created awareness about women’s safety in public places and informed students about various helpline numbers available for assistance during times of distress.
Dr. Rachana Mahesh was recognized by the management as one of the outstanding women entrepreneurs in Mysore. She was felicitated by Ms. Juhie Singh, Dr. Reena Francis, and the Women’s Cell Committee members. Her organizations focus on skill development, digital education, entrepreneurship, and women empowerment. She is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Social Impact Award by the Public Relations Council of India and the Priyadarshini Leadership Award in New Delhi. She has also been awarded a doctorate in entrepreneurship for her contributions to business leadership and social empowerment.
The management also recognized the contributions of Dr. Bhavana, an Ayurvedic doctor, who, after serving with Patanjali and Arogyasiri Ayurveda, established her own clinic and dispensary. She expanded her entrepreneurial journey by introducing the sale of raw herbs and millets, thereby promoting traditional health practices and sustainable living.Dr. Seetha R., a distinguished retired Professor from the Department of Tamil, St. Philomena’s College, was honored for her remarkable academic contributions. She also released a new book during the event. Holding a Ph.D. in Tamil, M.Phil in English, and Master’s degrees in Sociology and Psychology, she has an impressive academic profile. She has authored over 150 research articles published at national and international levels with ISBN and ISSN recognition. Additionally, she has translated 22 poems into Kannada, which were released by Bangalore University.
Dr. Shwetha Nayak addressed the students on important reproductive health issues faced by women. Her session provided valuable medical insights and created awareness among the students regarding women’s health and well-being.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, organizers, and participants for making the event a grand success.Conclusion:
