Report on “No Tobacco Day” – An IQAC Initiative

Programme Overview:
The “No Tobacco Day” initiative was conducted on the 3rd of June, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the PG Block. The event was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with Radio Mirchi. The aim was to highlight the detrimental effects of smoking and to promote a tobacco-free lifestyle among the students.
Highlights of the Programme:
Dr. Deepa V., IQAC Co-Coordinator, opened the event with an insightful briefing on the harmful effects of smoking and Mr. Ronald Prakash Cutinha, Vice Principal (Administration), reinforced the message by sharing additional insights on the dangers of tobacco use.
Student Participation:
Several students took the stage to share their knowledge and perspectives on the harmful effects of smoking, providing a peer viewpoint on the issue.
Signing Campaign:
A signing campaign was conducted where participants were encouraged to leave messages on sticky notes. This symbolic act represented their commitment to a tobacco-free life and created a visual testament to the collective effort against tobacco use.
Interactive Activity:
A small game of blowing balloons was conducted, with two students participating. This activity was designed to demonstrate the immediate effects of smoking on lung capacity and health.

The signing campaign and interactive activities not only made the event informative but also interactive and memorable. This initiative by the IQAC serves as a reminder of the continuous efforts needed to promote health and well-being within the academic community.
