INTERNATIONAL E-CONFERENCE ON GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES IN HOTEL AND TOURISM INDUSTRY POST-COVID
An International E-Conference was organised by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, St. Philomena’s College on 16th of July 2021. Prof. Paul Iruthayaraj HoD, Department of Tourism and Hospitality welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Prashant B.S, Managing Director of Safe Wheels Group of Companies, Founder- Director Karnataka Society, Rev. Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, Rector/Manager, Dr. Alphonsus D’Souza, Principal, St. Philomena’s College, Mysore, dignitaries and participants from across the globe. Then all the dignitaries gathered together for the lighting of the lamp and that started off the event. Chief Guest gave a speech highlighting about the bright future of the Tourism and Hotel Industry, Principal highlighted about the rising back of Tourism and Hotel Industry. Rector, Honoured the Chief Guest by presenting a momento. Then commenced with the sessions by the resource persons of the E-conference. The first presentation was given by our speaker Dr. Edward Probir Mondol, Principal and Sustainability Consultant, Global Academy of Holistic Leadership, Alberta, Canada. He spoke about the Post Pandemic Challenges and Opportunities in Tourism and Hospitality Industry Abroad Perspectives and Sustainability, followed by the next speaker Dr. Mageswari Ranjanthran, Lecturer, Department of Marketing Strategy and Innovation Sunway University Business School, Malaysia, she spoke on the opportunities in Tourism Industry with special reference to South East Asia. The final speaker Mr. Dinesh Harshan, Sommelier, Queen Mary 2 at Curnad, London, United Kingdom shared his experience as a Sommelier on the topic Travel Around the World Every Year. Prof. Rini Brown, Department of Tourism and Hospitality gave a vote of thanks to all the resource persons and thanked the participants from countries like Canada, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Chile, Spain, Nepal, etc and states like Assam, Gujarat, Bihar, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh etc. for their active participation throughout the E-conference. Rev. Fr. John Paul, Campus Administrator graced the occasion.
