
One Day Workshop for the Non-Teaching Faculty, organised by the IQAC

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St. Philomena’s College organised a Professional Development Workshop for the non-teaching staff on 20th September 2025. The programme aimed at enhancing workplace efficiency, effective communication, and stress management, thereby fostering holistic staff development in line with the institution’s mission of continuous quality improvement.
The workshop was inaugurated in the presence of dignitaries including Rev. Dr. Lourdu Prasad Joseph (Rector), Rev. Dr. Ravi JD Saldanha (Principal), Rev. Fr. Gnana Pragasan (Administrator), Rev. Fr. David Sagayaraj S (Assistant to Rector), and Mr. Ronald Prakash Cutinha (Vice Principal – Administration). The sessions were conducted by Mr. Prabhu Deva M. K., Director, JK Global Academy, an experienced trainer in communication, personality development, and stress management. His interactive approach and practical exercises engaged the participants effectively.
Programme Highlights included:
- Session 1: The 6 W’s of Communication (Why, Whom, What, When, How, Where).
- Session 2: Stress Management Techniques with practical tools for workplace well-being.
Interactive Activities: Group tasks, indoor/outdoor exercises, and case-based discussions to build teamwork and problem-solving skills.
A total of 38 non-teaching staff members from Administration, Library, Accounts, IT Support, and Maintenance departments participated. Feedback indicated that over 90% of the participants found the workshop “Highly Useful” in improving their professional skills and workplace practices.

- Improved communication strategies among staff.
- Awareness of practical stress management methods.
- Strengthened teamwork and collaborative spirit.
- Increased motivation and commitment towards smart and effective work practices.
Acknowledgements were extended to the Management for their support, the IQAC team for planning and execution, the resource person for his valuable insights, and all participants for their enthusiastic involvement.
Conclusion:
The workshop “Smart Work, Stress Less, Smile More” was a resounding success, achieving its objectives of empowering the non-teaching staff with essential workplace competencies. It reinforced the college’s vision of creating a positive, productive, and value-based institutional environment through regular professional development initiatives.
