One Day National Webinar on Recent Trends on Mathematics

On 29 November 2024, Department of Mathematics of St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore and Department of Mathematics of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) jointly organized a One Day National Webinar on Recent Trends on Mathematics. Webinar enabled through the Zoom Platform with the link https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81318122748.

The webinar began with a welcome speechfollowed by prayer to set the tone for the event.

The first session, led by Dr.Bharatha K (PG Head, Department of Mathematics, St Philomena’s college), provided valuable insights on the topic Differential Equations in Plasma Physics, Optical Communications, engaging participants with practical ideas and thought-provoking discussions.

Session 1 :

It was by Dr Bharatha K,  the Head of PG Department of Mathematics, St Philomena’s College.

    In his session, he introduced the notion of nonlinear differential equations and focused on the applications of Differential Equations in nonlinear dynamics, in particular equations that arises in Ocean Engineering such as KdV equations, KP equations and highlighted a few applications to Plasma Physics, Optical Communications and allied aspects.

Session 2:

Following this, Dr. Ravi Kumar (Head, Department of Mathematics, Patna Women’s College) conducted the second session, focusing on the topic Application of OrdinaryDifferential equation in Real Life, where he shared his expertise and offered fresh perspectives in mathematical modelling.

Both sessions were highly interactive, knowledge gaining and tells how to think Mathematics in real life leaving the audience with actionable knowledge and inspiration. The webinar concluded successfully, fostering learning and collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.

After the program Dr.Bharatha K expressed his gratitude and appreciated the support by both the management and the student fraternity of esteemed institutions.
