Financial Literacy and Awareness Program
On 14th February 2024, the Department of Commerce organized an interactive investment awareness program facilitated by Ms. Nidhi Mehta, a seasoned SEBI trainer. The event aimed to educate attendees about investment opportunities and strategies to make informed financial decisions. It witnessed active participation from individuals keen on enhancing their understanding of investments.
The program began with a warm welcome speech delivered by Aditi Deepak, a final year BCom student, who extended greetings to all participants, including the dean and Head of the Department of Commerce, Dr. Reena Francis, other faculty members, and the students of both Commerce and Management.
Following this, Neha Sajan,a final year BCom student, introduced Ms. Nidhi Mehta, highlighting her extensive experience as a SEBI trainer and her commendable contribution to conducting over 300 investment awareness programs.
Ms. Nidhi Mehta’s sessions were the highlight of the program, characterized by interactive discussions, real-life examples, and insightful presentations. She adeptly elucidated various investment avenues, including stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and real estate, demystifying complex concepts for the audience.
Participants actively engaged with the speaker, posing questions, seeking clarifications, and sharing their investment-related concerns. The interactive nature of the session fostered a conducive learning environment, empowering attendees to gain clarity on investment strategies tailored to their financial goals.
Yashaswini, another final year BCom student, concluded the session with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Ms. Nidhi Mehta for her enlightening discourse, and also expressing gratitude to the Management, Principal, HOD of the Department of Commerce, and other faculty members for their continuous encouragement and support in arranging such a meaningful talk on financial literacy.
