EXTENSION ACTIVITY

The activity aimed at keeping the students engaged and provided them with an even platform to explore and express their creativity in any form. It also aimed to help the students learn and develop new skills, and promote team spirit. The Extension activity program was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Rev. Sr. Shybil Sebastin, the Principal, Flos Carmeli Convent, and Rev. Fr. Bernard Prakash, Fr. Maria Xavier, Fr. Praveen, and Fr.Christopher. The event commenced with a group song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Rev. Fr. Bernard Prakash delivered the presidential address, wherein he shared the word of God and encouraged the children to focus on their talents along with the studies. Sr. Shybil Sebastin, in turn, imparted spiritual guidance and encouraged the students to derive joy from the camp in the presence of the Lord. The eminent guests’ presence lent the occasion an aura of solemnity and reverence.Rev. Fr. Maria Xavier proceeded to engage the young minds with various action songs and clapping, instilling a sense of excitement andThere were more than 145 students from classes I to II PUC participated enthusiastically in different activities during the camp. The students were able to face their fears, try newthings, push their boundaries, and realize self-sufficiency. They were able to make new friends amidst lots of laughs and learn team spirit.
A week before the camp, a meeting was held with all the students of Department of Christianity and volunteers under the leadership of Mr. Joel J, Asst. Prof. St Philomena’s College. He assigned students and volunteers in charge to assign and assess the groups about the program.On 24th April, the resource person Rev. Fr. Praveen took sessions on the importance of reading books. He motivated the young minds about the Bible and encouraged them. Rev. Fr. Peter took a session for class 8th and above regarding being addicted to God rather than the material world. He motivated the teens about identifying their talents and improve them.On 25th April, Rev. Fr. Christopher Xavier took the session on being happy and making others happy. He engaged the students related to the sessions with related visual aids. High school students were addressed by Mr. Joel J, Dept. of Christianity, St. Philomena’s College, on God Experience, he motivated the students in experiencing God in different scenarios. His session was taken over very energetically and also inspired the young minds with related visual aids.The sessions were followed by activity conducted by Antony Gop, Agnesh Kandulnha and team. Refreshments were given to all, followed by lunch. In theafternoon sessions, the games and dance were conducted by the students of Department of Christiniaty.At the end of all the sessions, a vote of thanks was delivered by Dn. Ebenezer Paul. Prizes were distributed for the winners by Rev. Fr. Bernard Prakash, Rev. Fr. Maria Xavier, and Rev. Fr. Praveen.Every activity worth doing has a learning curve. This extension activity provided some hands-on experiences in the following areas: the importance of the books, dance, action songs, drama, visual pathway, games, competition, and Eucharistic celebration. The exuberantlearners zealously participated and showcased their diligence towards each planned activity of their choice. The essence of this camp was to develop a sound character of each student, and ultimately the motto was achieved. This Extension activity was earnestly appreciated not only by the participants but also by their parents. The overwhelming acknowledgment through their reviews and feedback was a motivating factor for the entire team. The event concluded on a high note with the students taking back fond memories and valuable life lessons.
