Faculty Development Programme at Sdmimd

A day long faculty development programme was organized by SDM Institutefor ManagementDevelopment Mysuru, on May 30, 2023, on “InnovativeTeaching Methods”. The first and second sessionswere on innovative teachingmethods where the importance was given on inclusion of role play and casestudy in teaching. The resource person was Dr Mousumi Sengupta  who delved deep into the significance of innovation and upgradation in teachingmethodology. She highlighted the variouspedagogical challenges we face as teachers and suggested that case study analysis and role play couldprove a vital tool to increase interest, concentration and involvement of the students in classroom. 

The afternoon sessions, conducted by Dr Sunil MV,allowed participants to explore the use of artificial intelligence in teaching and designing of assignments. It was a hands-on training for the participants to use various tools available online which would assist them to gather information from authenticated sources.

The programme was truly insightful which broadened the scope of teaching in today’s times. The programme culminated with the sharing of experiences by the participants and the distribution of certificates.
