Guest lecture on “Machine Learning and Image Processing”

The Department of Computer Science,St.Philomena’ s College, Mysuru organized Guest lecture on “    Machine Learning and Image Processing”   on 25th May 2023 . The Program started at 10:00 A.M in the College Chapel Hall with a welcome speech by Shreya Nayak of 4th semester B.C.A Followed by a prayer song by Starwin and group in the gracious presence of Prof .Nagaraj Urs vice principal academic, IQAC Coordinator Thomas Gunasheelan sir , Prof sanjay Nair and E.Gloriya priyadarshini H.O.D Dept of Computer Science.

The chief guest of the day was introduced by Mohammed Yasir Hasan of 4th semester B.C.A.

The stage was taken over by the speaker of the day Dr.Chandrajith M. He gave an insights about Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Image Processing.

The Resource Person gave an activity to the students to Differentiate between Two Fruits Apple and Orange by displaying both the images on the slide.He emphasised the concept of learning as a acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience followed by stressing on various models on Machine Learning.

Later applications of Machine Learning were enlisted and the concept of Digital Image and its types were given to audience at glance. A Sample Model of Image formation was explained and differences between Sampling and Quantization was discussed. Sir concluded the session by playing a video covering all the concepts discussed and presented above.

The session had total number of around 180 participants including both faculties and students of St. Philomena‘                     s College(B.Sc and B.C.A)

Finally the program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohammed Emaad Ateeqh 4th semester B.C.A.
