Student Mentoring
Mentoring is to promote the wellbeing of the students, said Prof. Seby Mavely during a session on mentoring organized by St. Philomena’s College, Mysore on July 7, 2018 at college auditorium.
Mentoring is a 360o progress of students to achieve their goal. For mentoring the students teachers should know their strength and weakness so that they can mould them into successful individuals and facilitate them to achieve their goal, he added.
He also briefly explained about the benefits of mentoring, role of teachers as mentor, needs of mentoring, and effects on students if proper mentoring does not take place.
Rev. Fr. Maria Xavier, vice rector; Dr. Ruth Shantha Kumari, Principal, Rev. Fr. Rony Ravi Kumar, Asst. Director PG, Dr. Alphosus D’Souza, Controller of Examinations, members of faculty from UG and PG were present in the session.
