Report on Awareness Talk: “Traditional Wisdom for Modern Wellness”

An awareness programme titled “Traditional Wisdom for Modern Wellness” was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St. Philomena’s College, Bannimantap,Mysore, in observance of World Health Day 2026 on 7th April 2026 at the College Auditorium from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
Objective of the Programme
The primary objective of the session was to create awareness among faculty members about the importance of traditional healthcare practices, especially Ayurveda, and how these practices can be integrated into modern lifestyles to promote holistic well-being.
Resource Person
The session was delivered by Dr. H.A. Shashi Rekha, Senior Medical Officer & RMO at Government Ayurveda Medical College, Mysore. She brought with her deep expertise in Ayurvedic medicine and preventive healthcare.
Participants and Beneficiaries
The programme was attended by faculty members, including both teaching and non-teachingstaff, who were the main beneficiaries of this awareness initiative.
