
Report on the Two-Day National Seminar “Transforming education for the Future: Intelligent, Inclusive and Immersive Learning”
A two-day national seminar titled “Transforming Education for the Future: Intelligent, Inclusive & Immersive Learning” was organized on 16–17 March 2026 at the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), University of Mysore, in collaboration with the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi.
Inaugural Session
The seminar was inaugurated at the B.N. Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences (BIMS), Mysuru. The event was led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.K. Lokanath, with Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director of CEC, as a key speaker.
According to news reports, Prof. Manhas emphasized that education must evolve with technological advancements and align with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence, while stressing that human values remain central to education.
He outlined five essential values for modern learners:
- Adaptability
- Empathy
- Integrity
- Opportunities
- Universalism
Prof. Lokanath noted that education continues to be a powerful instrument of social transformation. He stressed the importance of independent learning, mentorship, and the integration of AI and data analytics in teaching.
Participation and Theme
The seminar brought together academicians, policymakers, media professionals, faculty members, research scholars, and students from across India. Discussions focused on the changing educational landscape, particularly in the context of emerging technologies and digital learning.
The central theme revolved around:
- Intelligent learning through AI and digital tools
- Inclusive education for diverse learners
- Immersive learning using advanced technologies

Members of the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Social Work, including teachers and learners, attended a two-day national seminar titled “Transforming Education for the Future: Intelligent, Inclusive and Immersive Learning,” hosted by the Educational Multimedia Research Centre at the University of Mysore, Mysuru. The event featured 14 scholarly presentations delivered by participants from the department.
Technical Sessions – Day 1
Following the inauguration:
- A keynote address by Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas explored the role of immersive technologies in future education.
- A special session by Prof. A. Balasubramanian discussed how AI can simplify and enhance content creation and delivery in education.
- Technical Session I included multiple research paper presentations focusing on inclusive learning technologies.
Day 2 Highlights
The second day featured:
- A masterclass by Mr. Sunil Prabhakaran on “AI in Academia: Shaping the Future of Learning”, focusing on digital practices and artificial intelligence in education.
- Technical Sessions I & II, where scholars presented research papers on innovative educational approaches and technology integration.
- A valedictory session that included participant feedback, certificate distribution, and presentation of the seminar report.
Significance of the Seminar
The seminar highlighted the urgent need to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. It also underscored the importance of integrating technology with human-centric values in education.
Organized by EMRC—an institution dedicated to enhancing education through multimedia and digital platforms—the event reinforced its role in advancing innovative learning methods across India.
